    Which files can be removed from Startup Disk to empty the drive on Mac OS X Leopard?

    Am afraid of deleting the files from Startup disk, because this may affect the os x. So can you please suggest me what all files I can delete from the startup disk without affecting to the running os x. The main reason for this request is to empty the hard drive since the disk is full.

    Hi

    The files which you have installed after the windows, you can remove them.

    But the files which are connected wit the operating system you can not remove.

    So go to the library option of your mac there you find the applications folder you can select the applications which you want to delete.

    the application folder files can be removed and other files can not removed from Mac OS X Leopard.

    Thank you...

    Hi hello .. The files which are associated with the OS should not be deleted . and remaining all the files which are unnecessary can be deleted . install any third party software to clean all the junk files . so that you can free up some memory . remove the unwanted shortcuts and uninstall the unwanted programs . this might help you in gaining the hard disk space . Thank you...

    While using the mac device, many unnecessary file takes space from drive.Due to that , sometime space problem is created in drive in mac device.
    you can also delete the unnecesarry files as per your choice & make a space in drive in your Mac device.
    After deleting the unused file from startup disk , you have a new space which you can used effectively for your mac device.

    --> Go to "Finder" and then "startup disk"
    --> Press command I
    --> startup window will opened in which all the detail of disk is displayed such as free space , disk capacity etc.

    Delete the file to Empty the drive in mac

    --> Go to "Finder" and click on "Empty trash"
    --> Unused localization file
    --> Unused application
    --> Old itune library backup
    --> Archive old file

    Hi..............,

    There are a various kind of the files which can be removed.
    You can visit the start up disk to empty the drive.
    There press command I
    Now there you can use the command of free space and and disk cleaning.
    In finder you will also find Trash folder.
