Files getting deleted in Mac without moving it to trash

Why this is happening? Whenever I try to delete some files in my Mac it just deletes the file completely without moving it to the trash folder. Tried some settings to be changed but nothing helps. What should I do now? Can you please provide me the information to resolve this problem? Thank you.

There is a workaround available for this problem which should help you to fix the issue which means to get the deleted file in the Trash folder before moving it out. Just follow the below mentioned steps,

STEP 1: Navigate to the Application Folder -> Utilities -> Open terminal.

STEP 2: From terminal window type in the command as “sudo rm -rfv ~/.Trash” (without quotes) -> Type in the administrator password when asked to execute the same.

STEP 3: Again type in the command as “mkdir -v ~/,Trash” (without quotes). Close the terminal window.

STEP 4: Select the apple icon from the desktop screen -> Select Force Quit.

STEP 5: Select Finder from the Force quit application window -> Select Relaunch button and close the force quit applications window.

Now just check try to delete some file and it should now put the file in the trash folder without any problem.

    Hello Friend

1)you can remove this problem by using
    "UNIX"command in Terminal.

    2)You will replace the
    * with Spaces.

3)Take notice of the upper caps letter
"R" .It can delete files and folders.

    4)Quotation marks are not entered.

    5)First of all start Terminal

    6)Now Type
    "SUDO *rm*-R*"

7)Drag files, folders that your want to remove after this command.

8)Now you will check it is confirm or not.

9)For the more information on the command "rm", type "man rm" in the Terminal.

    <space> to scroll

    <q> is to quit.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:: Try to restart the Mac and then see it also show the delete file in trash folder.

:: Try to recover the deleted data from the trash.

:: Check any multifunctional threat, which do that.

:: Else you can reset the NVRAM,so that your system recover from the minor bugs.

    Hi,

Yeah! I have got your problem and i have the solution for it.

1.If you have deleted files by using 'Command+Delete' button.

2.Then the files will be not in the trash.

3.If you delete it by right lick it will be in Trash.

4.If you have deleted it by right click still the files are missing.

5.Then you try to restore the OS files using Time Machine.

    Have a nice day.......

Re: Files getting deleted in Mac without moving it to trash

    Hi................,

In mac if you simply delete the item it is located in thrash.
A special delete is directly delete without locating to thrash.

So whenever you delete the item delete it in normal way not by pressing Command+ Del
You can also type the UNIX command in terminal.
There replace the * with spaces.
Upper case note R is also for the delete.

    Thanks
