Reasons to your problem are --->
-You are using intel based Mac.
-The system of yours is using non-standard partition scheme.

Solutions to your problem are --->
-Firstly make a backup of your data.
-Now repartition the disk and then reinstall the Mac OS.
    -Go to Mac installation disk.
-Click on utilities and then disk utility.
-Click on your system's hard disk and select the partition tab.
-Select the desired number of partition and then click on Options.
-Now select GUID Partition Table from the Partition scheme sheet.
-Click on OK and wait for the partition to get completed.
-After it is finished, reinstall the Mac OS.

    Your problem will be solved.
