iMac reports invalid volume/directory counts after running Disk Utility

When I run Disk utility on my iMac(OS X 10.6.8), it keeps reporting invalid volume/directory counts. Each time I restart from my Install DVD and repair the disk, thinking that this will solve error but the error still persists. What should I do to rectify this error?

First of all check your disk utility and change all your volume device like speakers microphones etc. Now check your volume driver software and download new software or change the version of current software present in you mac. Than your problem will be solved.

    Welcome User..

I think your Mac DVD Drivers are very old and may be they are not supported with that.
Here i request you to download new sound drivers from the Apple Store websites and install them.

    Dear Friend...

As I find the solution of your problem, then i got to know that this is not only your problem, Many users face the same issue and still waiting to find the solution. But the solution is here,

What you need to is to reboot your installation disk. Once you have finish this then you just open your Disk Utility menu. From their, choose your hard disk for repair. After that, you need to call your Apple Support Center which you can contact via mail or telephone no which you can get from its website as well. Now ask for the original serial key. When you get the key, just put that in your utility disk so that it become updated with original. Because you are using a old disk with an outdated serial key which update after contacting from Apple.

Hope this issue sort your problem some where,
    Thank you once again.

    Happy to help you,...
