IT just annoys me a lot using iMovie application in Mac now because I just frequently get the error -50 in it and I am not able to do anything after that. What should I do now? Is there any workaround available or so? or this is just permanent? Anyone fixed the issue before? Hope I will get some good solution here.

    Hi,
You can fix only by installing the new iMovie application again into mac system.
Whenever new version available you old application creates many issues so it is better if you will go for the new version installation.
First of all uninstall the iMovie app and delete it from your mac system. After done this restart the mac system once. After restarting open the browser and downloaded the lateset version iMovie application again into mac device. After this locate it where it is stored. After locating double tap on it for starting the installation process.
Now wait until it completes its installation process. In between the process accept the terms and conditions. After install restart the mac system now you can use the iMovie application without error. If you like the old iMovie app then once restart the mac system use.Even if error again then you must navigate to newer version.

Re: Instructions to fix Mac iMovie Error - 50?

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say........................

1.It is not a big problem.

2.The Error 50 will occur when there is a incorrect export.

3.So to solve this try to export another format file or Bit rate or resolution.

4.If still you have the problem then your iMovie application maybe damaged.

5.So to solve this you remove that from your Mac and then download it and then install it.

I hope by doing as i said you can solve your problem.

    All the best........................

    Hello friend

1.You will boot the OS X install disk.

2.In the OS X installer window, select the language that you use and movie to the next window.

3.Do not continue with software install.

4.Instead, in the menu bar, select the utilities and Disk utility.

5.Use the Disk Utility to repair Disk on your start up start up drive.

    6.After repair, restart normally.

As will i Movie really runs better on a newer machine.

    Hello my Dear Friend ...

There is a solution for your problem

For that first of all TROUBLESHOOT where the problem has occurred

ERROR - 50 Means === INCORRECT EXPORT PARAMETER

So you better to try the different export format

You better to open the " iMovie " app

Then kindly close the iMovie and Trash the below files

You can go to the Library .. go to the Preferences

    com.apple.iMovie.plist files

Also you better to install the Latest version of the Quick time now

Then Go to the Applications once ..

    Click on the Utilities option

You will need to Run the Disk Utility ..

You can repair and Disk and Permissions ..

It should definitely fix the solution I hope

    GOOD LUCK

Re: Instructions to fix Mac iMovie Error - 50?

The application shows the error 50 only when there is a problem in exporting a file....

So, you can follow these steps to solve your problem..

    - It may be possible that your imovie app remains open for a long time thats why such type of errors are coming...

So in that case you can just restart the application.

    - But if the problem remains same every time then it might be possible that your application is of older version.

so, update your app or better download the latest version of app compatible with your system...

    - It might be a virus problem also so can scan your system with an advance anti virus.

Doing these steps you will surly get rid of your problem.
