    Mac dock doesn’t show up because of startup disk is full error

    Whenever I turn on my Mac I get the error message as “Your startup disk is full” and then the dock doesn’t appear at all. What should be done for this problem? Can someone provide me the instructions to fix the problem? Kindly help me with the steps for the same.

    This error shows up if your disk is full maybe with the files and folders which you have copied before or with the cache files. So now to fix this issue just follow the below steps as given below,

    STEP 1: Restart your Mac by pressing Command key + S and now a black command screen will open up.

    STEP 2: Just type in the below mentioned commands.

    mount -uw /
    rm -rf /Library/Caches/*
    rm -rf /Users/*/Library/Caches/*
    reboot
    STEP 3: Mac will restart normally. Now download the JDiskReport application for Mac CLICK HERE!! which will show you which folders and files are taking up more space.

    STEP 4: Just analyse with the application and delete the files and folders which consumes more space. Now restart your Mac and you should get back your Dock again in your Mac without any error messages.

    Hi

    1)First of all start up disk's icon. For most users, this is Macintosh HD.

    2)Now press the command-I keyboard combination.

    3)The get Info window for your start up disk will open.

    4)In the general pane, the capacity, Available and space used on your start up disk will be displayed.

    5)you will remember that On your Mac OS X start up disk without altering your hardware.

    Follow the steps:

    =) First move the disk utility.

    =) Then open the hard drive.

    =) Now selects the "Repair Disk"

    =) And then this will repair the disk problem.

    Hi.....................,

    Not to worry follow the given steps ---->
    * Empty your Trash.
    * Clear out download and desktop.
    * Check the movie folder.
    * You can delete data from there but be careful.
    * Clean up music apps and pictures.
    * Kill big caches.
    * Now its a time to scan.

    So by following above steps you can make appropriate space in mac.
    Suggestion told by moderator is also reliable.
