Macbook Air sleep option not working on Mountain Lion

Upgraded my Macbook Air to the latest Mountain Lion but now the issue is that the sleep option is not working at all. Why is that? What should I do now for making it work? Even when I closed the lid it just gets heated up which means it doesn’t go to sleep after closing the lid too. What is the issue behind this?

Re: Macbook Air sleep option not working on Mountain Lion

Now there me be several issues which need to be checked before to fix this problem and in that the first thing to be checked is to see if you have set the sleep mode by going to the System Preferences -> View -> Energy Saver and make sure if the Sleep mode is enabled from there.

If so then you need to check the next thing which is the Sharing preference. If it’s on then it won’t allow your Macbook Air to go for sleep as it needs continuous availability of the system to be present. So just go to the System Preferences -> Sharing and disable the option which should fix the problem.

Once you have done that restart your Mac once to make sure if the settings which you have changed is stable if so then it your Macbook Air should go to sleep once you have close the lid or keeping it idle after sometime.

I think you need to disable the sleep mode in your Mac system.

=) For that first close all windows.

=) Then move to the system preference in to Mac-book.

=) Once the system preference is open then you have to select the “Views” option.

=) Now under it, choose the “Energy Saver” that you want.

=) Then here you check the box in front of sleep mode.

=) Then restart the Mac system OK.

=) Once your system is open then again go to the system preference and then enable the sleep mode.

=) And then check your problem is solved or not.
