    Method to install OS X Mountain Lion on an External Drive?

    Is there any method with which I can install the OS X Mountain Lion on an external drive and turn on my mac machine with two different OS X versions. I have an external drive with complete free space and I need to install the mountain lion on this, please tell the procedure that I have to undergo for this.

    Hi friend,

    You can install the os x mountain lion on an external drive by following the below instructions.

    +++ Steps to follow to install the os x mountain lion on external drive :

    1. First of all turn on your mountain lion device.

    2. After turn connect the external drive to your mountain lion.

    3. After connecting insert the bootable mountain lion os x into mac disk drive.

    4. Now go to the boot options by pressing the boot button.

    5. In boot options select the external drive as target and tap the install os x mountain lion.

    6. Now your installation process wills start.In between do the partitions.

    7. After completing the installation the disconnect the external drive and reconnect and check.

    Hello friend,


    I have the solution for your problem just do as i say.........

    1.Firstly Make your mac urn on.

    2.Then you connect the external drive to your mac.

    3.Then you insert the Mountain Lion OS CD.

    4.Then you open the Disk utility.

    5.there you select the target drive as the External Drive.

    6.And the mountain lion Os will be installed in the External drive.

    Hello Friend

    OS x mountain Lion supports several different installation options.

    When you start the Mountain Lion Installer, but you can perform a clean install or an upgrade install of the OS.

    And you can also other facility to install Mountain Lion on a wide range of devices.

    Including your Startup Drive, and internal partition or volume or just about any external drive you may have, including USB

    Flash drives.

    You can also create Bootable copies of the installer that can run on DVD, USB flash drive, or any bootable external drive

    you may have lying around ,looking for a purpose in life.

    OS X Mountain Lion has a few Requirements they are

    The usual data, such as the amount of RAM and Disk space you will need.

    It also includes a list of a Macs that are specifically supported by the Mountain Lion OS.

    Installing mac os x in the external hard disk.

    ----->Connect your external disk to either your desktop or mac laptop.

    ----->Insert the mac osx installation disk into the dvd/cd drive of the mac laptop.

    ------>hold the c button in the keyboard to begin installation of the mac.

    ------->select the language--->english

    ------->open the disk utility and select the external drive to install the mac os.

    -------->Now click next and install the mac os.
