Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

    Hello sir,

i think that there is no software and hardware fault in to your device.its only the some issue that cause you the current problem.this issue may be that you have not enough space in to your mac so that it save the file that you want to copy.so my suggestion to you is that you should have to check the memory status of your mac and then try to solve out the issue according to the memory space.

There may be some virus problem in to your device that resist you to perform the your operation. So my suggestion to you is that you should have to scan your device with a good antivirus.
i am sure that after going though the above information you will get the solution to your query.
    thank you.

While trying to copy a file more than 4GB from external drive to PC or viceversa......
It will displays that file too large or destination path is too large....
    To overcome it......
    --First install winrar......
-- After that open the external drive and then right click on the file.
--Now tap on add to archive and rar window is displayed.
--Now select the browse and select the desktop or any drive and then tap on OK.
--Then it will be added to desktop...
--Now open the rar file on desktop and extract it to some other drivers...
    --Then it's done.....

    Attachment 352Attachment 353
It is worked in my case....Once try it.....Hope you may resolve the problem....

    Hi............

Yeah! I have got your problem and i have the solution for it.

1.It was the limit of the Mac.

2.So you cannot copy the files which are more than 4 GB.

3.Till now there is no solution for your problem.

4.You can move that file by splitting into many components.

5.Now you can copy that files individually.

    Have a nice day....................

Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

    Hello

To solve that problem you can try these steps..

===>This is not a MAC system Specific problem.
===>Firstly you need to check your drive space where you try to past that file.
===>Make your drive space as above of 4GB.
===>To make drive data space you can delete Worthless files or folder.
===>Delete all the unuseful files and folder from that drive.
===>Now try to copy and past your file.
===>After doing so will get proper response.

Try this i hope this will help you...

    Hello Friend,

    Reason May Be :

    >> If You Have Connected Your External Device Than They Not Recognized By The MAC OS PC
    >> Or That May Be The Virus Problem.

    Solution :

    >> Firstly Installed The Antivirus In The PC And Scan All The PC
    >> After That Insert The External Drive Which Store The Contents Which Want Copying In The PC
    >> Than Wait Few Min And When They Shown In OS Successfully Than Open The Folder And Find The Contents In It Than Copy That
    >> And After That Paste In The PC Drive
    >> If They Not Done Than That Is Recognized Problem So Use The Different Post Of PC And Repeat The Process Than They Successfully Copying In The PC.

I Hope That Info Is Usefully

Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

As far as concern to your query.
Try to safe your work in different folders so that the memory divided in parts
    Now copy it in imac
Or more wat you can do is delete the unused folder to remove the inused memory which is taking consuming your memory.

    Hope it will help
    Thankyou

Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

    - Yet no officially solution is there of copying not more then 4GB data in one chance.

    - There maybe any reason behind it.

    - Well you should first ensure that there is enough free space in hard disk.

    - You now copy the files in multiple chances.

    - Select as much vedios whose size much not exceed 4GB.

    - If your viedos are of total 9GB then copy in three chances with selecting 3 gb files.

Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

    Hi friend,

The following is the procedure for solving the problem of not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my Mac.

At first you need to keep in mind that enough memory is not presented in your Mac to save the file.

So in order to save the file, the external devices are to be used like datacard, pendrive etc whenever you need according to your choice.

    Thanks.

Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

Hi Dear Aspirant .. When you are Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in your iMAC then Firstly check the memory storage Capacity of the Device . Remove the Unwanted files and free a bit of the Space , so that the required files can be copied . or else compress the file of 4GB to Minimum compressable size . it might the Limit of your iMAC , so it will be an better option that you have to Copy the files to other external device . such as External hard disk , pendrive , memory card , CD/DVD and any other memory storing device . Thank you..

Re: Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say..........

1.Firstly try to check the drive to which you are copying files have the
enough space to store the files which are more than 4 GB.

I hope that mac will not allow the the files which are more than 4 GB.
so try to compress that files in the other system then try to move them.

As you are saying that you are trying to move Movie try to split into
two parts and copy them in to your mac.So you can easily move the
movie files in to your Mac more than 4 GB.

I hope it will help you to solve your problem.

    Have a nice day........

Not able to copy a file which is more than 4GB in my iMac

I have my iMac running with the Snow Leopard OS and right now I am facing a issue with it. I have some video files which I have captured with my camera and it needs around 4GB+ size. So when I try to copy these video files which are 4GB+ to my iMac it just doesn’t allow me to copy and copies only till the 4GB mark. Why this is happening? Is it a problem with the iMac OS? or something else?
