Not able to keep 1920x1080 resolution in extended monitor from Macbook Pro

I have connected an external monitor in my Macbook Pro and now when I try to setup the resolution to 1920x1080 it just doesn’t goes to that but changes automatically to 1920x1200. Why is that? Can you please give me the instructions to setup properly the resolution which I want?

I am pretty sure that you are have connected your external monitor through the DVI port connection because there is no way to setup the resolution as 1920x1080 in those connection as it doesn’t support it at all. So when you try to do that it will try to adjust to the nearest possible resolution which is 1920x1200 as you are getting it now.

So to get the 1920x1080 version you should connect the output through the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable. For that first you need to check if your monitor as the HDMI output if so you can get the HDMI cable and connect to get it working. If not you need to buy the particular monitor which supports it and now all the latest Monitors have this support inbuilt.

If that’s not the option then you can connect your Macbook Pro with the Smart TV which as the HDMI connection on it and you can do the same setup of resolution for it.

    Dear,

Follow the steps from the initial steps to set the resolution:

:: First you connect the High Definition Multimedia Interface probe to monitor form the output of mac-book pro.

:: Now start the both system.

:: Now you can set the 1920x1080 resolution in to it.

:: This will be working because you connect the monitor with HDMI probe OK.
