    Is it possible to hide folders in Mountain Lion?

    I want to know if it will be possible for me to hide the folders in Mountain Lion which is running in my Macbook Pro? Can you please give me the full information regarding it? What all changes to be done for that? I am very new to Mac world so please provide me the information in a way where I can understand.

    The answer is Yes.
    There are few changes that you need to do,

    It is quite possible to hide folders in Mountain Lion through this way:-

    1. Go to a particular file,
    2. Press right click on that and go to its properties,
    3. When the properties open, there is a dialog box in which you get 3 box at the bottom.
    4. Out of these 3 boxes, you need check the hidden one and press Apply and then OK.
    5. Your file has been hide now,

    A part from that, there are some software's as well which do the same work.
    The name of that software is folder lock with password facility as well.

    It is possible to hide the folders in your mountain lion.For this do the below things
    There are many applications available in internet to hide the personal data.So,download the any hider application to your mac and install it.
    After install open the hider application and create the secure password.After creating tap the hide option.
    Now a window will open to select the folders which you want to hide.Now select the folders.
    After selecting the folders.press the done and finally tap the hide option.Now you folders are hided successfully.You can also unhide the folders by re-visiting the hider application again.

    You can hide the folders ,files in your mountain lion.For this you need to install the third party application.From this third party app you can hide eerything in mountain lion which you want to hide.

    +++ Instructions to hide the folders in mountain lion :

    1. First of all turn on the mac system by pressing the power button.

    2. Now download and install the hide application like hide me or any other to your mountain lion.

    3. Now open the application.After open it will ask to create the security code.

    4. So,create the code and re-open the hide application.

    5. Now tap the hide folder option in this hide app.After this a new window will open to select the folders.

    6. Select the folders which you want to hider.

    Hi,

    Yes,you can able to hide the folders in mountain lion.

    For that you must download the hider app,steps are:

    Open the home screen on the mac.

    Then go to the internet buttons and search for the hider app.

    Select the download button and then wait for sometime.

    Press the install option and it it now completed.

    Open the hide app on mac,select the folders to hide.

    Press the ok button.

    I have the solution for your problem just do as i say............

    1.Firstly make your Mac turn on.

    2.Then you open any one your browsers.

    3.Then you go to the website 'http://www.altomac.com/hide_folders/'.

    4.From there you download the 'Folder Hider' software in your mac.

    5.Then you install it and open it.

    6.Then you select the files which you want to hide.

    7.Then you click on the option 'Hide' at the top.

    8.You can also put the password and protect by using this software.

    That's it by doing as i said you can solve your problem.

    There are many software available for Mac that can work as a safe guard for all of your files and you can hide all your files. But if you do not wanna go for any such software then there is a alternative also available which you can use.

    The steps are given below :-

    First of all go to the file which you wanna hide.
    Now go to and press the right click
    Then move to properties
    Now you can go to the particular file and press Hide button given above
    By this you can hide the files

    I will solve your problem into easy steps .....

    So first of all go and turn on your device and then just go to the home screen and then just click on to the file which you wanna hide...And then just right click and move to the properties..After that just go to the particular file and press Hide button given above...Now at the en just hide the files....ALL Done .....

    In the mac , you can hide the desire folder.
    By hidden the folder , you only know about that folder.thus , it remain secure from other user & you can protect your data & folder.
    now whenever you want, you can visible that folder & modify & open that folder.

    Hide the folder in Mac

    --> Go to "Finder" in dock
    --> select "application" and then "utilities"
    --> now click on "terminal"
    --> Type "chflag hidden" in the termincal utility
    --> Drag desire file to terminal utility which you want to hide
    --> now click on "Return" & hide the file

    now you can show the hidden file in your Mac.

    --> Go to "Finder" and then "Application" and then "utilities"
    --> now select "Terminal"
    --> now type "Terminal" in spotlight search
    --> now programme will appears
    --> type "defaultwrite.comapple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes" in termincal window & give "Enter"
    --> open the "terminal" menu & select "quick terminal".now terminal window will close
    --> Restart your Mac
    --> open the "Finder" from dock.now you will see hidden file.

    now you can see hidden files & folders in the Finder & it will visible for all.

    Hi,

    Yeah! I have got your problem and i have solution for it.

    1.make your mac turn on.

    2.Open the 'Terminal'.

    3.Type the command as 'chflags Hidden'.

    4.Then you give a space and drag the file which you want to hide.

    5.Finally press 'Enter' to hide those files.

    6.To unhide them you type 'chflags nohidden' in the terminal and press 'Enter'.

    and after the downloading install the app and then go to its option

    and then select the folder you want to hide.

    All though, there are very few things are different in Mac OS as compare to Windows OS but if we talk about its hiding file or any folder, then both the OS are same.
    Yes, Mac OS also have this option to hide data in your hard disk.



    For this, you need to select a particular file like movie, song or a picture and press right click on it.
    After right click, you get properties option in the option list. When you click on properties, then again you get 3 option where the file hiding option is available.
    Once you make a check on hide file, press OK and then apply on the files.
    Now refresh your device and the files automatically invisible.

    This is the way to hide the file.

    Hello Friend

    If you want hide the folder go to the terminal first.

    Now you type the chflags hidden and then drag a folder or file you want to hide into the terminal windows.

    Now you can access hidden folders and files by summoning the go To folder dialog and typing in their full paths.

    If you want Unhide them, go back to terminal and type chflags.

    No hidden followed by the file or folder path.

    You can use FileVault option for hiding entire Mac drive.
    Go to System Preferencesí Security & Privacy pane and turn on FileVault. That will encrypt your entire hard drive, so someone would need your password to get at its contents in Terminal, type chflags hidden and then drag a folder/file you want to hide into the Terminal window.

    Follow this easy tips to Hide the folder,

    1. Go to Folder which you want to hide and right click on it.
    2. Now at the bottom, click on Properties option.
    3. A Box will appear on the screen.
    4. Click on Hidden box in Attributes.
    5. Press OK and save the changes made.
    6. That's it your folder is hidden now.
