Re: Steps to downgrade Java 7 to Java 6 in Mountain Lion?

You can do it by following these simple steps.

First Click on the '''Finder'' application on your Dock.
then Click on the "Applications on the side bar".
In the search box on the right top type "JavaAppletPlugin.plugin"
This will find JavaAppletPlugin.plugin file.
then right-click on the file and select move to trash.
This process will uninstall JAVA 7 from your Mac.
Now its time to reinstall JAVA 6.

Again go to Finder and click on Applications.
Click on the "Utilities" folder
Then double Click on "Terminal" located below.
In the Terminal window Copy and Paste the command below:

" sudo ln -s /System/Library/Java/Support/CoreDeploy.bundle/Contents/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin " (Without Quotes)

It will ask for your Password. Just enter the password and java 6 will be restored.
