Steps to install the Snow Leopard OS in external hard drive?

I am planning to install the Snow Leopard OS in Mac not in local drive but in external hard drive. Is that possible to do? What are the steps which need to be followed? Can someone provide me the information as soon as possible? Thanks.

    Hi...........,

Follow the steps as shown below ----->
    * Insert the OS 10.6 Snow leopard DVD .
    * Open system preference and select start up disk and then OS Snow leopard install DVD.
    * Click restart button to start the installation process.
    * After your mac restarts continue with the intro page.
    * The external hard drive will not currently be an option for installing so we need to use disk utility to make configuration change.
    * Select utility from the menu bar to access disk utility.
    * Once disk utility opens, select external hard drive you would like to install Snow leopard then select partition.
    * From there select 1 partition and click options.
    * To allow mac to boot from external hard drive the drive must set up with GUID partition table.
    * To make sure that you do not make a mistake be sure to name a volume anything. Apply the changes.
    * Now exit the disk utility and the installation window will return which will ask "which volume will you want to install Snow leopard"
    * Select the external hard drive that we partitioned with the GUID to continue the installation.
*** This will further completes your installation and you can restart the mac.

    Thanks

    Hello Friend

First of all launch disk Utility.

Next select the snow leopard DVD within Disk utility.

Now click the "new image " button at the top.

Name the image and put it somewhere you can find it easily.

Now click OK and wait for the image to be created.
