Steps to run Apple Hardware test without CD-ROM

The CD-Rom drive stopped working in my Mac few months back and now I am facing issue where the external hard drives are not getting detected properly and some more issues which are related to hardware. I just felt that I need to run the Apple hardware test to check with these issues but the problem now is the CD-ROM doesnít work so I cannot run the Hardware test from it. What are the other options? Is it possible to run the Apple Hardware test without the CD-ROM?

Yes, it is possible to run the Apple hardware test without the CD-ROM. Follow the steps as given below,

STEP 1: Switch off your Mac if it is already on and switch on back to get into the boot screen.

STEP 2: Now before you see the grey screen just press and hold the “D” key which will go to the Apple Hardware test automatically.

STEP 3: It will start the process and takes some time to show the next options -> Select the language and select right arrow once the process is completed.

STEP 4: In the next screen it will show up the tests which need to be performed as like basic test or diagnostic test -> Select the desired test and click Test button.

STEP 5: Check the bottom-right of the Console.

STEP 6: Once you have completed all the tests -> Click restart or shutdown from the bottom of the window.

If you want to run the hardware test then you have to
    follow the steps.

=) First turn OFF the Mac system.

=) Now ON the system and the same time press the "D" letter.

=) Under it, you enter the hardware test window so you have to select the "language" and select right arrow also.

=) Then after that select the basic test or diagnostic test that you want to test.

=) After selecting the option ,it will take the time to complete the process OK.

=) Now you can restart the Mac system so that you can see the welcome screen on the screen.

    Hello Dear Friend ...

To Run this Apple Hardware Test You need to insert Application Disc

You have to disconnect all wired peripherals

It is to be done except the Mouse and Keyboard

This test is completely independent of the Operating system

Apple Hardware test can be run through the Screen Sharing

    You can follow that

    GOOD LUCK
