Hello Dear Guest, just follow these steps to copy the videos on your Sony handcam to to your mac.
    Step 1
Turn the camera off and open your video editing software program like iMovie(Bacis One) or Final Cut; Final Cut(professional one).Choose the program according to your needs and ability.

    Step 2

csuch as HD or SD(Note: If your exact model is not listed in the software, then select a model close to the model you are using).

    Step 3
Connect the camera to the Mac using the cable provided by your manufacturer. Usually called "FireWire transfer cord",which helps in very fast data transfer.

    Step 4
Activate the capture setting in your video editing program and follow the instructions to begin capturing. As video programs capture in real-time(means the camera will run the video footage in the same speed and timing that the footage was recorded in) and the software will just record it so be sure you have the time to allow the footage to run.

    Step 5
Save the project file in your video editing program once the capture is complete. And check if you have captured properly before you delete them from your camcorder.

Re: Transferring Videos from Sony Handy Cam to Mac?

    Dear Friend.

Sony handy cam has enough internal memory and if we don't use any memory card, then it still store so many pictures and videos.
I think all the videos are by default stored in your Sony Handy Cam internal memory that's why it is not showing any video in your mac after connecting it via cables.
So first you move all your snaps in your external stotage device and plug in the cables of Sony Handy Cam with your Mac.
If you still find some problem then you need to try another alternative after this,

Now you need to eject your handy cam memory card and insert the memory card in a card reader like the above shown picture,
Once you do this, then connect the card reader with your Mac.
After recognizing this in Mac, copy all the photos and videos insert the memory card in Handy Cam again.

Hope this is the best solution with regard to this problem.,
    thank you..

    Hello dear..........

The best process is insert a memory card in to the CAM
Now copy the video files in to the Card.....
Now connect the CAM with MAC using cable.
And open the memory with IMOVIE app and convert to the required format.
Then tap on convert. It will convert all the videos in cam and store in to MAC.

    Hope you understand............

1.You just plugin the USB cable of your Handy cam.

2.Later you once switch on and switch off your Handy Cam.

3.Then your Handy cam will be detected.

5.Then you can copy the files from Handy cam to the Mac.

    or

1.Or you just remove the memory card from the Handy cam.

2.Insert that in the card reader and plugin it to your mac.
