    What should I do if the hard drive is not showing up in Mac?

    I donít know for some reason the hard drive doesnít show up in my Mac. Have anyone faced the same type of issue some time as well? Can you please guide me what to be done for resolving this problem? basically I need to get back the hard drive in my Mac. Thanks.

    There can be only two reasons for why the hard drive is not showing up in your Mac 1) Your hard drive is corrupted and needs hardware fix 2) Your hard drive is not mounted in your Mac properly. Now first try to go with the second point of checking if your hard disk is mounted properly in Mac. Just follow the steps which are mentioned below,

    STEP 1: Select Command key + Spacebar -> To open the Spotlight Search.

    STEP 2: Search for Disk Utility -> Press Enter.

    STEP 3: Now from the left side of the window select the hard drive -> Right click on it -> Select Mount option.

    So this should fix your problem if not it should be the issue in the hardware which needs to be checked with the service centre.

    Hello my dear friend ...


    Follow the below steps carefully first of all


    Go to the DESKTOP first

    Then Go to the " Finder " menu

    Click on the " Preferences "


    Make sure the Next to the " HARD DRIVE "

    So make sure the box next to the HARD DRIVE is checked


    That is it


    It will definitely get Detected

    Hello friend,


    I have the solution for your problem just do as i say...........

    1.Firstly open the 'Finder'.

    2.then you go to the 'Applications'.

    3.Then tap on the option 'Utilities'.

    4.There you tap and open the 'Disk utility'.

    5.There you can find your hard disk.

    6.Then make a right click on it and then click on 'Mount'.

    That's it by doing as i said you can solve your problem.

    Solution regarding the hard drive issue:-

    For that you can mount the hard drive in your Mac.

    :: So move the disk utility section.

    :: Then open the hard drive.

    :: Now right click and selects the mount.

    :: Then restart the Mac system.
